Enter Vietnam by air and the whole procedure only takes a few minutes. If you enter overland expect a bit more attention. Duty free allowances are the standard 200 cigarettes and a bottle of booze variety. Visitors can bring unlimited foreign currency into Vietnam, but large sums (US$7000 and greater) must be declared upon arrival.
